TomTom
plans the UK exhibition debut
for its Work, Webfleet and Go
720 software on its stand 12-319
at
the CV Show in April. The range
of software gives
truckers 24-hour access to
vehicle management and
comprehensive reporting tools as
well as sophisticated hands free
phone and satellite navigation
using what the firm says is the
best-known and interactive
European map range.

Fleet Solutions Provider
heads in right direction (www.truckandcv.com)
GP Fleet Solutions Ltd has
secured partner status with
vehicle satellite navigation
provider TomTom.
The system combines vehicle
navigation with tracking,
planning and communication
functions, allowing operators to
manage their fleet more
effectively and connect with
drivers in the field.
Key features of the system
include real-time maps and a
web-based connection to the
TomTom Webfleet vehicle
management and communication
service, which allows users
to send client orders,
navigational co-ordinates and
traffic reports via an office
PC.
Ian Pearson, GP Fleet
Solutions Director, said, ‘The
TomTom system allows you to send
details, delivery/collection or
service direct, so the driver
doesn’t have to input details.
It saves paperwork, keeps
drivers out of traffic jams and
improves productivity. More
importantly, workers will be on
time for their appointments,
meaning more satisfied
customers.’
HGV fleet users can also
benefit from information about
road restrictions, including low
bridges, and request daily
reports detailing driver hours
and break times in order to
satisfy working time directives.
The product is targeted at
anyone who operates three or
more commercial vans, HGVs
or LGVs, and is ideally suited
to key commercial sectors
including service and
maintenance, transport and
logistics, and delivery and
distribution.
No specialist software or IT
equipment is required, and the
system is fully bluetooth
enabled, meaning no expensive
car kit is required. A customer
login is also available,
allowing customers to track a
vehicle online.
